Katerina Gavala, MD, PhD | Greek National Health System

Dr. Katerina Gavala is an Ophthalmic Surgeon and Director within the Greek National Health System. She earned her doctorate at the Medical School of the “G. D’Annunzio” University of Chieti–Pescara and completed a subspecialty in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” University of Rome. Since 2006, she has been Head of the Ophthalmology Department at the General Hospital of Kos.

Dr. Gavala has an extensive scientific portfolio, including numerous publications and presentations at both national and international conferences. Since 2022, she has served as President of the Medical Association of Kos and as a member of the scientific committees of the Panhellenic Medical Association.
